Organiser's Description

BAG WARS FREE COMMUNITY EVENT

_12 noon @ Butte Trailhead Parking Lot._

Bag Wars is a team-based endurance and strategy challenge built around teamwork, load management, and grit. This is a FREE community event designed to bring people together, meet new training partners, and push limits in a fun, supportive environment.

No experience required. Just show up ready to work.

EVENT FORMAT
Participants will be split into teams of 68
The event runs for 90 minutes
Teams operate from a central base in a parking lot connected to a 0.75-mile trail

THE CHALLENGE (ROUNDS)
Bag Wars is completed in rounds.

Each round consists of:

100 LBS OF TOTAL WEIGHT TRANSPORTED (8 team members would average 12.5 lbs/each; some team members will carry more, some less -- but across the whole team)
Carried up the trail and back
100 TOTAL BURPEES (8 team members would average 12/each, but again, more advanced members will do more, beginners will do less)
Completed by the team before the next round begins

HOW TEAMS MOVE THE WEIGHT
Teams may send as many members as they want per trip
Weight can be split across multiple carriers or stacked on fewer carriers
Multiple weight increments will be available
Teams decide how to deploy members and weight each round based on their strategy
A round is only complete once:

The full 100 lbs has gone up and back, and
The team completes 100 burpees

SCORING
Each completed round = 1 point
Teams may complete as many rounds as possible within the 90-minute time cap
The team with the most completed rounds wins

WHO THIS IS FOR
Runners
Lifters
Cross-trainers
Weekend warriors
First-timers
This event is about community, teamwork, and effort, not perfection.

WHAT TO BRING
Comfortable trail or running shoes
Water
Gloves (recommended for carrying)
A team-first mindset

IMPORTANT NOTES
Teams will be assigned on-site
Event is free
This is a community workout, not a professional race
All participants must sign a waiver

**Butte Parking Lot is Borough-owned and parking fee/permit applies.

WHY BAG WARS
Because teamwork beats ego.
Because carrying weight builds grit.
Because suffering together builds community.
