Join us for the 12th Annual Barney's Run for Warriors on Saturday, November 16, 2024, in Albany, Dougherty! This spirited event not only brings the community together for a day of fitness and fun but also supports a noble cause: rescuing lives—both veterans and dogs. Participants can choose from three exciting race distances: a half marathon (13.1 miles), a 10K, or a 5K, all USATF certified and set on a nearly flat, paved course through the scenic neighborhoods of Albany. Plus, you can bring your furry friend to join you on the 1-mile, 5K, or 10K run!
With cash prizes awarded to the top overall male and female finishers in all distances, and medals for age group winners, there's plenty of motivation to hit the pavement. Not only will you enjoy well-stocked water stations and a vibrant race atmosphere, but you will also make a difference in the lives of veterans seeking a new leash on life through trained service dogs. Remember, registration closes on November 5th for guaranteed t-shirts, so lace up your running shoes and gear up for a day of community spirit, competition, and compassion!

12TH ANNUAL BARNEY'S RUN FOR WARRIORS
RESCUE TWO LIVES- a veteran and a dog! We are proud supporters of K9s for Warriors based in Ponte Vedra, Florida. Proceeds from our race purchase a highly trained service dog for an area veteran. Ninety five percent of the dogs trained by K9s are rescued from shelters with high kill rates. The veterans that graduate from the K9s for Warriors program are able to resume a more normal life.
OUR 13.1, 10 K , AND 5 K RACES ARE USATF CERTIFIED. CASH PRIZE FOR OVERALL FEMALE AND MALE IN THE 1/2 MARATHON , 10K AND 5K!!!!!
REMEMBER YOU CAN BRING YOUR DOG TO RUN WITH YOU ON THE 1MILE, 5K OR THE 10K. Enjoy running on our nearly flat, paved, and well marked courses through Albany neighborhoods. We have plenty of water stations, pit stops, great t-shirts and swag bags.
Help stop the 22 daily suicides of our military veterans and honor them with a lifesaving service dog. Give them both a new leash on life.
