Get ready to lace up your running shoes for the 7th Annual Be Happy Road Race, taking place on Sunday, August 24, 2025, in the charming town of Windsor, Connecticut! This exciting event supports a noble cause, with 100% of participant registration fees donated to clinical trial research at the Smilow Cancer Center, where innovative cancer treatments and quality patient care are the focus. Participants can choose between the chip-timed 5K and 10K races, both of which feature USATF certified courses. The 5K and 10K races kick off at 8:00 AM, following a lively start that includes the cheers of the Official Be Happy Cheer Squad.
For our younger runners, we also have a fun and energetic 1K race for kids aged 10 and under, starting at 7:30 AM. All finishers will receive custom "BE HAPPY" medals and an exclusive race t-shirt. With cash prizes for the top three overall male and female finishers in both distances, as well as divisional awards, there's plenty of motivation to bring your best! If you can’t make it to Windsor in person, you can still be part of the event by registering for one

Join Team Be Happy & Lindsay's Legacy Foundation [https://lindsayslegacyfoundation.org/] for the 7TH Annual running of the Be Happy Road Race through the historic town of Windsor, CT!
To date we have raised and donated over $100,000 to support clinical trial research at the Smilow Cancer Center, and with your help we hope to continue to support these programs with 100% of participant registration fees donated to this research action. Smilow focuses on innovative cancer treatments and quality care for patients who have been given a devastating cancer diagnosis.
We are excited to announce that prize money continues in 2025!!! We will be awarding sponsor provided cash money to the top 3 overall male and female finishers for the in-person 5K and the 10K. (Female 1st, 2nd, 3rd, Male 1st, 2nd, 3rd) You can only participate in one event.
All participants that register for 5K/10K will receive our signature 2025 BE HAPPY race t-shirt. All participants who finish the 5K/10K will also get a custom "BE HAPPY" finisher medal after crossing the finish line (kid's fun run runners will get a fun run medal after crossing the finish line).
The kid's 1K (open to our fun runners ages 10 and under) will begin at 7:30 a.m. - with fun runners beginning at the Villages entrance and running an action packed 0.6 miles on a (safe) closed loop finishing in front of the Villages Clubhouse. This closed community will be alive with the cheers of supporters and the Official Be Happy Cheer Squad!
The 5K and 10K races will begin together at 8:00am beginning with a double loop through the vibrant development at the Villages at Poquonock before turning left out onto the scenic streets of this beautiful town. Courses are USATF certified 5K course: CT20007JHP / 10K course: CT20006JHP
These races will be chip timed with cash prizes awarded to first, second, and third male and female overall winners. Divisional awards will also be given to the male and female winners of each division of both races (Age divisions up to 1-14,15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80+), no double dipping.
You can also register for one of 3 virtual events! Run a 5K - 3.12 miles, a 10K - 6.24 miles, or our Race for Hope Challenge, which includes a 5K, 10K, and 1/2 marathon or 22.46 miles. All virtual events begin on August 26, 2025, you can run your miles at home on a treadmill or out in the streets of your choice then use the provided link to upload your results. (Those participating in our virtual events will have their race packets mailed to them after registration closes on race day.)
Details regarding bib mailing date cutoffs and early packet pickup will be announced closer to race day.

The 5K run/walk starts with a 0.7 mile loop through the Villages at Poquonock, turns left on to Poquonock Ave, then left onto Rainbow Rd. Runners make a U-turn at the intersection of Rainbow Rd and High St and continue back on Rainbow Rd to Poquonock and finishing their last stretch down Commons Crossing at the Villages. No dogs are allowed on the course. -

The 10K will start at the same place and time as the 5K, beginning with a 0.7 mile loop through the Villages at Poquonock then turning left onto Poquonock Ave, left onto Rainbow Rd, continue to rotary before turning around and going back finishing with a half loop back at the Villages. No dogs are allowed on the 10K course, those with strollers must abide by the 2 hour course time limit for their safety and the safety of others on the roads. -
