Join us for the inaugural BE THE LIGHT 5K RUN/WALK on Saturday, September 27, 2025, in Texarkana, Bowie, as we shine a spotlight on NICU families during Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Awareness Month! This uplifting event aims to support and uplift NICU families, recognizing the incredible staff and the brave parents who care for their little warriors.
The race will kick off at dusk from the CHRISTUS St. Michael Hospital campus, taking participants through the scenic Sisters' Trail along Galleria Oaks Drive, before returning to the hospital campus under the enchanting night sky. Runners and walkers are encouraged to embrace the theme of the event by lighting up the course with glow accessories, creating a vibrant atmosphere of hope and community. Come out and show your support for NICU families by participating in this meaningful 5K, and together, let’s BE THE LIGHT in their journey!

Organiser's Description
Welcome to the inaugural BE THE LIGHT 5K RUN/WALK hosted by Fearfully and Wonderfully Made! September is NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, the unit for the super sick babies and babies born prematurely) awareness month, and we want to "shine the light" on all things NICU. The incredible staff, the amazing parents, but most of all, NICU warriors! By participating in the BE THE LIGHT 5K, you will be partnering with Fearfully and Wonderfully Made to help support NICU families through their NICU journey and beyond! This race will start at dusk at the CHRISTUS St. Michael Hospital campus in Texarkana, TX and wind through the beautiful Sisters' Trail down Galleria Oaks Drive to Robin Lane and back, ending again at the Christus St. Michael campus once it is dark. Not to worry though! Runners are encouraged to embrace what it means to BE THE LIGHT in the darkness! The more glow the better! Let's show these NICU families that their community is ready to show up and BE THE LIGHT for them!
