Event summary
The race kicks off on a fire road, allowing for a smooth mass start before transitioning onto the iconic Arizona Trail (AZT), where riders will navigate through tight, flowing single-track trails, gradually climbing through rocky terrain. As participants reach the top, they'll be greeted with a fast and fun descent, complete with smooth sections and challenging rock gardens. Whether you're racing solo, teaming up as a duo, or forming a group of four, the BearJaw Groove promises a day filled with fun and camaraderie. Plus, don't miss out on the chance to win cash prizes for solo podium finishes! Be sure to pick up your race packet on Friday, August 22nd, from noon to 4 PM at Run Flagstaff in downtown. Organiser's Description
The 10.5 mile loop course Begins on a fire road for roughly a mile to give the mass start time to thin out. Then hitting the famous AZT with its tight, smooth, single-track connecting to Rocky Moto. These two trails are a gradual climb sustained climb and a few roots and rocks. Eventually connecting to Moto! From the top, it slaloms down from smooth fast and flowing with one or two rock gardens. Then back to Start/Finish single-track to finish the race. The course is fast and fun, accessible by most recreational riders. And yes, you can ride it solo, as a duo or a team of 4.... Are you ready to "grin and bear it"
