THE ANNUAL HILO TO VOLCANO 50K RUN/WALK/RELAY IS ON SATURDAY JANUARY 10, 2026.
HILO TO VOLCANO 50K ULTRA AND TEAM RELAY IS A CHALLENGING 31 MILE RUN GAINING APPROXIMATELY 4000 FEET IN ELEVATION. IT IS CHALLENGING, AN EXCELLENT ACCOMPLISHMENTAND SUPER FUN AS A RELAY
THE START WILL BE AT THE UNDERGROUND PARKING LOT OF THE HILO HAWAIIAN HOTEL ON BANYAN DRIVE, HILO (SAME AS LAST YEAR).
SOLO RUNNERS: START IS AT 6:00 AM.
RELAY TEAM RUNNERS: START IS AT 6:15 AM.
This course utilizes shoulders on Hwy 11 and finishes at the Cooper Center in Volcano. Relay teams change runners every 2 miles at the even mile markers. There are no aid stations along the course, so runners are encouraged to bring their own water and nourishment. A light lunch, snacks, drinks and medals at the end.
_PRIZES FOR SOLO RUNNERS:_ Top 3 Female and Male runners overall, Top 2 Female and Male runners in each 10 year age group.
_PRIZES FOR RELAY TEAMS WITH NO MORE THAN 3 RUNNERS: _Top 2 Female, Male and Mixed relay teams up to 40 years, Top 2 Female, Male and Mixed Masters relay teams over 40 years (all members must be over 40 years old).
_PRIZES FOR FAMILY AND STUDENT RELAY TEAMS (NO LIMIT ON TEAM SIZE):_ Top 2 Family relay teams (must be from same family), Top 2 Student relay teams (must all be high school students or younger).
