Runners of all ages are invited to join in the action as they race for a great cause, supporting the VSU Cross Country teams. The 5K course features a single loop starting near the corner of Azalea Drive and College Street, providing an engaging experience for both seasoned athletes and newcomers alike. With awards for overall male and female winners, as well as masters categories and top finishers in nine age divisions, there’s a chance for everyone to shine! Participants will receive a drawstring shoe carry bag upon registration, and family discounts are available until August 8. TRAVELS AZALEA DRIVE TO A LEFT TURN ON CRANFORD AVE, RIGHT TURN ON WHITE OAK DRIVE, RIGHT TURN ON AZALEA CIRCLE, LEFT TURN ON AZALEA DRIVE, RIGHT TURN ON GORNTO ROAD, RIGHT TURN ON GEORGIA AVE, LEFT ON CLYDE AVE, RIGHT ON NEW BERN STREET, RIGHT ON PARK, LEFT ON DELVID STREET, RIGHT ON CRANFORD, RIGHT ON GEORGIA AVE, LEFT ON CARY STREET AND LEFT ON AZALEA DRIVE, FINISHING AT THE VECA SCHOOL.     Expected Code of Conduct: Swapping of entries is not allowed. Refunds are only given if the event is canceled and not rescheduled. Weather policy: Races are held rain or shine, heat or cold. In order for an event to delay or cancel a race, the event must be experiencing lightning, hurricane, flood, blizzard, or other conditions like a forest fire nearby etc. Please dress accordingly and use your judgement regarding your personal limitations. IF for some reason an event must cancel an event due to conditions, emails will be sent, if possible, to all registered racers and announcements will be made through social networking channels - or you will find out at the race site. Read before heading to the road race. Code of Conduct to follow in ALL ACL EVENTS and many other Road Races: 1] Wear the bib number on the front of your shirt/shorts - the bib number is to be completely visible at all times - especially at finish line. 2] Stay in order of finish once across the finish line, while in the finish line chute. Finish line personnel have final say as to order of finish. 3] When finish cards are used, they are handed to you in order of finish in the chute fill the card out legibly and completely. Place the finish card in the proper male or female age group appropriate baskets as quickly as feasible. If you do not properly fill out and place your finish card in the proper gender and age group - you will not be in the results. 4] Observe your finish time on the finish line clock and record that time on the finish line card. The finish line personnel are focused on collecting the data on every participant please do not interrupt their collection/management of the results. The official time starts at the command of "GO," and your time ends as your torso crosses the finish line. 5] Only people who have filled out a race application and signed the waiver, therefore entered participants should cross the finish line to be counted and only when they have completed the entire distance. Individuals under the age of 18 MUST have a parent or their coach sign the waiver. Do not cross the finish line if you have not completed the mapped out route for the course. Do not cross the finish line if you have not properly entered the event. 6] Encouraging other runners to run their best is always appropriate however do not cross the finish line more than once in an event. 7] Each participant is responsible to be able to hear starting instructions and finish line instructions at all times. 8] Participants may run with a baby jogger or a dog on a leash. You are solely and completely responsible for the stroller or animal and should be mindful not to impede others. 9] The courses that the events are run on are not closed to traffic though a permit and police assistance is required drivers are unpredictable and you MUST be aware of traffic at all times. Events must pay the Police for their time/involvement - stay focused and complete the distance/event in less than 60 minutes for a 5K. 10] The awards are either handed out in the finish chute, OR when finish cards are used, is usually just minutes after the last finisher completes the final event for the day. If you must leave before the ceremony, make arrangements with someone else to pick up your award during the ceremony. Awards will not be mailed. 11] Errors may happen during the awards presentation. All errors will be corrected. Please do not interrupt the awards presentation in process. Seek out officials after the ceremony to offer your discrepancy. 12] Announcing your name correctly during any awards presentation is always the goal. Please forgive any mispronunciation. Any help you may offer the announcer with the proper enunciation is always encouraged. 13] Race day registration? Bring correct cash or a check. Debit cards are NOT accepted. 14] The event will start on time, especially an event ACL is involved. It is highly recommended that you should be on site, registered and fully ready to run at least 15 minutes prior to the start time. Do not expect the start of the race to be delayed for reasons other than safety of all participant
