This exciting event invites runners of all abilities to experience the thrill of racing eight furlongs on the iconic dirt track at Red Mile. With multiple heats for the mile race—featuring an Elite heat and three Open heats—participants can enjoy the challenge whether they're seasoned athletes or first-time racers.
Join us for a fun evening on the track where you can also participate in the Trifecta Relay, competing with a team of three as each member runs 1/3 of a mile. And if you're up for a little friendly competition, test your speed in the Fastest Restaurant in Town contest, where local waitstaff can showcase their skills for a chance to win a prestigious plaque. Plus, don’t miss the chance to try out demo shoes from New Balance, On, and Diadora while you run! The fourth annual edition of the Bluegrass Mile provides runners of all abilities a unique opportunity to cover 5,280 feet on the dirt track at Red Mile. Whether you're looking for a competitive mile or a community walk, all are welcome to join us for an evening on the track.

Multiple heats for the mile race allow runners of all abilities to participate in the event (1 Elite, 3 Open). Whether you're a first-time racer, a seasoned runner looking for a tune-up, or a competitive runner interested in the unique opportunity to race on a horse track, the Bluegrass Mile offers something for everyone. Take advantage of the New Balance, On, and Diadora demo shoes available and run an additional mile or two. You may find your next pair of running shoes!
Want to run as a team? Enter the Trifecta Relay race! Teams of three will compete, with each team member running 1/3 of a mile (1760 ft). Look for designated exchange areas to tag your team members.
