Get ready for an exciting adventure at the Bluewater Canyon Trail Race on Saturday, May 17, 2025, in the stunning Bluewater region of Cibola County! This exhilarating 5-mile trail race kicks off at the Bluewater Canyon parking lot, where participants will navigate a mix of gravel road and established dirt trails, climbing over 500 feet to enjoy breathtaking views of the mountains and mesas. With three aid stations along the route, runners can stay hydrated while soaking in the picturesque surroundings and capturing memorable photos.
After crossing the finish line, participants can indulge in a complimentary fruit and beverage buffet, or take a refreshing half-mile hike into the canyon to cool off in the creek's inviting waters. Medals will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers, as well as the top three kids aged 14 and under, while all participants will receive custom socks and kids will enjoy t-shirts and other goodies in their swag bags. Plus, your furry friends are welcome to join in the fun! Don’t miss this fantastic opportunity to support the Cibola Trail Alliance, as all registration proceeds contribute to maintaining local trail systems. Late registration is available on race day from 7:00 AM to 8:00 AM,

Trail Runners Do It In The Dirt and the Cibola Trail Alliance proudly present, The Bluewater Canyon Trail Race!
This 5-mile trail race starts at the Bluewater Canyon parking lot, you will run 1 mile along gravel road before heading up over 500 feet to the top of Bluewater Canyon where you will have incredible views of the surrounding mountains and mesas and overlooks of Bluewater Canyon with its flowing creek below. Stop for the views and many photo ops with 3 aid stations along the way to keep you hydrated! The race follows established dirt road with some rocky sections and makes a loop on the mountain before heading back down to the Bluewater Canyon parking lot where you will finish. Stick around the finish area for a free fruit and beverage buffet or bring your own refreshments and towel and take a short half mile hike into the canyon where cold mountain water in the creek waits for you to jump in and cool off!
