NEW FOR 2026!
The Getting Miles Athletic Club is a local organization whose goal is to provide a community for recreational athletes of all levels.
With the support of UAW Local 2209, we are able to host the Getting Miles Kids Running Series.
The Buckner Dash, the fourth event of the 2026 series, is set in beautiful Buckner Park. Participants will race on this flat and fast two mile course. The event is free to kids aged 12 and under on race day.
Be sure to bring comfortable running shoes, socks, and dress for the weather. Also, bring water, and a snack for recovery. Make sure you arrive early to find a good parking spot, warm up, use the restrooms and pick up your race bib. Series participants need to return their race bibs to the packet pickup station in order to receive points for the race. You will use the same race bib for all the events.

9:45AM-10:00AM-Race finishes and series participants return bibs
Series participants need to return their race bibs to the packet pickup station in order to receive points for the race. You will use the same race bib for all the events.
We will not cancel an event due to weather unless conditions become dangerous.

RUNNERS WILL BE PLACED INTO ONE OF THREE AGE GROUPS:
8 and under
9 and 10
11 and 12
Races will award points based on your age group place
1st = 100
2nd =80
3rd=70
4th=55
5th=45
6th=35
7th=25
8th=20
9th=15
10th=10
Runners who finish after 10th will receive 5 points for participating.
Awards for participation and point series for the race season will be presented at the conclusion of the Werewolf Chase in October.
