Get ready for the inaugural Buzz, Sweat & Tears 5K, taking place on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at Fort Mill High School in York, South Carolina! This exciting event promises to unite the community in support of the Fort Mill High School Cross Country Team, which proudly includes over 150 athletes from Gold Hill Middle, Pleasant Knoll Middle, Banks Trail Middle, and Fort Mill High School. The 5-kilometer race (3.1 miles) is open to participants of all ages and fitness levels, with a special Kids Run covering a half-mile for younger athletes.
Join us at Bob Jones Stadium starting at 8:00 AM, with check-in available from 6:45 AM to 7:45 AM. The scenic course, primarily paved, will wind through the beautiful Fort Mill High School campus and is designed to create a fun and positive atmosphere. Enjoy delicious refreshments from local vendors like Knowledge Perk Coffee, Maui Acai, and Pelicans, who will be donating a portion of their sales to support the team. Join us for the first ever BUZZ, SWEAT & TEARS 5K; THE INAUGURAL FORT MILL HIGH SCHOOL CROSS COUNTRY TEAM 5K FUNDRAISER! This back to school fundraiser offers a fun and exciting event designed to bring our community together in support of a team boasting over 150 athletes between Gold Hill Middle, Pleasant Knoll Middle, Banks Trail Middle and Fort Mill High School! The Buzz Sweat & Tears 5K Fundraiser event is perfect for participants of all ages and fitness levels; walkers are welcome.
The FMXC program provides a positive training environment with a reputation of success in personal athletic growth as well as championship titles. Financial accessibility is key to ensuring that all students who are interested in participating can. Fundraising enables us to avoid imposing mandatory fees for participants, keeping the program accessible to all!
The event will directly benefit the Fort Mill High School Cross Country Team and help to cover costs associated with expenses that include, but are not limited to, uniforms, travel fees, race registration fees, water coolers, sun shelters, race timing, course markings, first-aid items, and many other needs which ensure a safe and positive experience!
