Get ready for a fantastic day of fun and fitness at the Cable Country Classic on Saturday, April 25th, 2026, in Cable, Champaign! This exciting event kicks off at 9:00 AM from the Wayne Township Building, where participants can enjoy a scenic 5K walk and run on closed country roads. The race is not only a chance to challenge yourself but also supports a great cause—fundraising for playground equipment and improvements at the local park, as well as benefiting the local cross-country team.
Registration opens at 8:00 AM, and those who sign up early can secure their spot for just $20, which includes a complimentary T-shirt if registered by April 15th. After that date, and for race day sign-ups, the fee is $25 (T-shirts will be available for purchase). Celebrate your accomplishment with a delicious pancake and sausage breakfast at the shelter house following the race. Prizes await the top 3 finishers in both male and female categories, as well as special trophies for the top three youths aged 12 and under. Join us for a day filled with community spirit, health, and a whole lot of fun!
