Whether you’re a beginner looking to start your fitness journey or an experienced runner aiming to enhance your skills, there’s a group tailored just for you.

Meet twice weekly on Mondays and Thursdays at 6:00 PM behind the Cabot Administration Office, where you’ll embark on a journey towards completing a 5K. The program features diverse training groups, from casual walkers to advanced runners, ensuring everyone can participate and improve at their own pace. Participants aged 10-17 are welcome with parental supervision, fostering a fun and encouraging environment for families. Organiser's Description

This is a FREE 6 week training program for EVERYONE - all ages and abilities to learn to run or walk for exercise.

Clinics will meet twice weekly on Mondays and Thursdays at 6:00 PM behind the Cabot Administration Office near the tennis courts. You can park at any of the nearby parking lots but please do not park in the tennis court parking lot as that is where we meet and warmup. 602 N Lincoln St in Cabot.
The first clinic session will be Thursday, April 2nd with an informational meeting. Last clinic session will be a graduation 5K and cookout on Thursday, May 14th.

TRAINING GROUPS ARE AS FOLLOWS, PLEASE REGISTER FOR THE GROUP THAT BEST FITS YOUR NEEDS. WE HAVE A GROUP FOR ALL PACES:
WALKER A - Your goal is to train to walk up to 3.1 miles walking a casual pace.
WALKER B - The duration of the faster walking intervals will increase weekly, improving your pace. Your training time will increase to 40 minutes in the last few weeks of the clinic.
BEGINNING RUNNER GROUP A - For those who currently don't run - Starts with 15 seconds running - 3 minute walking intervals.Your goal is to train to run/walk up to 3.1 miles.
BEGINNER RUNNER GROUP B - For those running minimally - Starts with 45 second running - 2 minute walking intervals and want to complete a 5K.
INTERMEDIATE RUNNER - Your goal is to train to run consistently up to 3.1 miles. You currently run at least 4 minutes before taking a brief walk break, and you are able to do these intervals for up to 30 minutes total.
ADVANCED RUNNER - Currently can run for 30 minutes non-stop. Your goal is to increase running endurance and run at a faster pace. Group will learn running skills to improve your running, and incorporate speed work.

AGES 10-14 may participate in clinic when accompanied by a parent where the parent stays with the child at all times in the same group.
AGES 15-17 may participate in a separate group than their parent with their parent still being present at clinic.
NO STROLLERS, WAGONS, "WHEELS" OF ANY KIND WILL BE ALLOWED. DOGS ARE NOT ALLOWED AT CLINIC.

    Your goal is to train to walk up to 3.1 miles at a casual pace.
  • Walker B (Intermediate-Advanced)

    Thu 2nd April 2026 (6:00PM CDT)

    Free

    Your goal is to train to walk up to 3.1 miles. Faster intervals will gradually be thrown in. Walking only.
  • Beginner Runner Group A

    Thu 2nd April 2026 (6:00PM CDT)

    Free

    Your goal is to train to run/walk up to 3.1 miles. You are not running any or very little and want to complete a 5K.
  • Beginner Runner Group B

    Thu 2nd April 2026 (6:00PM CDT)

    Free

    For those running minimally starting with Run 45 seconds - Walk 2 minute intervals working up to running nonstop for 5K distance.
  • Intermediate Runners

    Thu 2nd April 2026 (6:00PM CDT)

    Free

    Your goal is to train to run consistently up to 3.1 miles. You are currently running at least 4 minutes at a time with walk breaks for up to 30 minutes total.
  • Advanced Runners

    Thu 2nd April 2026 (6:00PM CDT)

    Free

    Currently can run for 30 minutes non-stop. Your goal is to increase running endurance and run at a faster pace. Group will learn running skills to improve your running such as speedwork and hill repeats.
  • Leader (Only Register if You Are a Confirmed Leader)

    Choose this option only if you are an assigned Cabot Cruiser group leader/coach.
