Join us for the 8th Annual Calumet Park Light the Darkness 5K run on Saturday, September 20, 2025, in Merrillville, Indiana! This exciting event will take place at Calumet Park Cemetery, located at 2305 West 73rd Avenue, at the corner of 73rd and Taft. Kick off your day with check-in starting at 7:00 a.m., followed by the race beginning at 8:00 a.m. Walk or run to support suicide prevention and make a difference in the community!
Participants can enjoy a pre-registration fee of just $25, with race day registration available for $30. Awards will be presented to top performers in various categories, including overall male and female winners, as well as age groups from 8 years and under up to 80 years and above. Special awards will also be given to top Clydesdale (Men 210 lbs and over) and top Athena (Women 170 lbs and over) participants. Race takes place in a beautiful setting that includes hills and lakes. Runners will not have to run on any public roads. Exciting race in an environment that closes all roads to motorized vehicles for participants. Registrations will be accepted the morning of the race for a fee of $30.00. $1.00 discount for Calumet Region Striders. Please register prior to event if possible!
