This race is organized by Trials of Color and sponsored by Seagen, Daiichi Sankyo, Aetna, Sheetz, Wawa, Crimson Clinic, Vanessa Crawford Petersburg Sheriff's Office and Saving Pennies 4 A Cure. It will be hosted at Petersburg High School. It is a charity race to bring cancer awareness and clinical trial information to underserved communities. Trials of Color's mission is to end the disparities in cancer communities through Education, Advocacy, and Booths on the ground.
Proceeds from the 5k Cancer Awareness Run and Walk support cancer awareness, early detection screening, and health education programs in medically underserved communities. A portion of the funds also go to the Petersburg Athletic Department.
