The Canton RUCK RUN 5K is more than a race its a community-driven movement built to honor service, support local veterans, and bring people together with purpose.
Whether you ruck, run, or walk, every step you take helps strengthen the lives of those who served our country and the organizations that support them right here in our community.
In our inaugural year, this event sold out in just 100 days, raised $4,000 for local veterans service organizations, and rallied volunteers to adopt 30 local veterans families during the holidays filling Christmas tree tags and collecting food and toys for the SAM Center.
Year Two is about building on that momentum.
Our goal for 2026 is to double participation, expand sponsorship support, and honor even more veterans along the course and we invite you to be part of building what comes next.

The Canton RUCK RUN 5K is a timed event, and awards will be presented to participants in the timed race categories following the completion of the 5K. Timing and awards recognize athletic achievement while honoring the broader mission of this event. Every participant will receive a finisher medal in recognition of their effort and support of local veterans. The awards ceremony will take place after the final participant crosses the finish line, reflecting the core value of this event: No one left behind. -

The Student 5K is open to students of all ages from elementary school through college. This category invites young participants to take part in a meaningful community event that honors service and supports local veterans. Students may choose to run, walk, or ruck the 5K course at their own pace, individually or alongside family members, classmates, and teams. All fitness levels are welcome. This is an inclusive, supportive event designed to encourage participation, teamwork, and respect for service. Parents and guardians are welcome to accompany younger students on the course as needed. No one is left behind. All Student 5K participants will receive a 2026 Canton Ruck Run 5K finisher medal, and eligible students may participate in the timed race awards following the completion of the event. -
Memorial Mile Walk

The Memorial Mile Walk is a quiet, intentional mile of remembrance held before the Canton RUCK RUN 5K. This walk takes place through the Veterans Memorial, creating space to pause, reflect, and honor the service and sacrifice of those who have served our country. Participants are invited to walk at their own pace alone, with loved ones, or alongside fellow community members in a moment centered on gratitude and respect. This is not a race. There is no timing or pressure. It is an opportunity to remember, honor, and be present. Volunteers will be onsite to assist elderly and disabled veterans who wish to participate, ensuring this walk is accessible, supportive, and welcoming to all. The Memorial Mile Walk is open to veterans, families, caregivers, and community members who want to begin race day with intention and honor before the larger event begins. -
