Get ready to kick off your Thanksgiving in style at the Cazenovia Preservation Foundation Turkey Trot on Thursday, November 28, 2024! This exciting family-friendly event takes place in the beautiful town of Cazenovia, Madison, and features a scenic 5K race along with a 1-mile Fun Run/Walk on the picturesque Gorge Trail. Both courses are out-and-back on a well-maintained gravel rail-trail, making it perfect for runners and walkers of all ages.
This year, participants can look forward to professional chip timing and staggered start times for each race, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for everyone. The 5K race kicks off at 9:30 AM, followed by the 1-mile Fun Run/Walk at 9:40 AM. Prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers in various categories, so bring your A-game! And don’t forget to don your best Thanksgiving-themed costumes for a fun twist! In the spirit of giving, participants are also encouraged to bring non-perishable food donations to support Caz Cares. Join us on Thanksgiving morning for a family-friendly 5K and 1-mile Fun Run/Walk on the Gorge Trail in Cazenovia, NY. Courses are out-and-back on a gravel converted rail-trail.
NEW THIS YEAR!
* Professional Chip Timing
* Separate courses and staggered start times for 5K and 1-mile Fun Run/Walk. (Start location is the same for both.)
RACE FEES: PRE-REGISTRATION IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. FINAL DAY TO PRE-REGISTER IS TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 26.
* $20 for CPF Members
* $25 for Non Members (to become a CPF member, go to cazpreservation.org/membership [https://www.cazpreservation.org/membership])
* $30 for day-of-race registrations for all runners/walkers ages 13 and up.
* Kids aged 12 and under are FREE.
RACE DAY DETAILS
* 8:00-9:00 am: Pick up Race Bibs at check-in table.
* 9:30 am: 5K Race Start (north-bound on the Gorge Trail).
* 9:40 am: 1-mile Fun Run/Walk Start (south-bound on the Gorge Trail).
* 10:15 am: Prizes awarded to the top 3 finishers in each category (Men, Women, and Youth).
* Costumes are encouraged! Wear your favorite Turkey Trot garb.
* We will be collecting non-perishable food for Caz Cares. Please bring a donation.
* There are NO BATHROOM FACILITIES at the trail head. Please take care of business before you arrive.
* NO DOGS OR STROLLERS PERMITTED ON THE TRAIL DURING THE RACE.
