Organiser's Description
Come join us for the 2024 Charlottesville Turkey Trot 5k on Thanksgiving morning, Thursday, Nov. 28th at 9:00 am. The race conveniently starts and finishes next to Albemarle High School and the course is held on the surrounding neighborhood roads consisting of flat stretches and mild rolling hills with a total elevation gain of 133 feet. Ample parking will be available at Albemarle High School, Journey Middle School, and Greer Elementary.
Our race beneficiaries are the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank and Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry. Both provide critical food resources to those in need. The Blue Ridge Area Food Bank services the Central Virginia area and is an affiliate of the national food bank, Feeding America. Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry, located on the race route, is the largest distributor of food from the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank in the Charlottesville area. It exists to provide food assistance to families and individuals in need in Charlottesville and surrounding communities by providing free groceries up to two times a month. A third of visiting households come twice a month.
Race registration is $35 beginning Sept 1, then $40 on October 25, then $42 on November 25, and $48 after 6pm on November 27. Registration includes a soft technical race t-shirt comfortable for running or wearing casually while supplies last. Sign up by November 1 to guarantee a race shirt.
Sign up as an individual racer, or race as a team. Create teams within your work colleagues, family, neighbors or sports team and strive for the 4 fastest cumulative times on your team and bragging rights for the rest of the year!

Strollers allowed only in the last wave. No exceptions! If everyone with strollers does not start in the last wave, this option will not be possible in the future.
Local Albemarle EMT medical services will be on site. We are grateful for their volunteer help and appreciate all those who will be helping to safely guide you throughout your race experience.

RACE DAY PACKET PICKUP Avoid race morning lines by picking up your packet on Tuesday (3-6pm) or Wednesday (1-5pm) at Connect Church. If you need to pick up your race packet on race morning it will be open from 7:45am-8:30am at the race venue at Albemarle High School's main track entrance.
LATE REGISTRATION: Wed., Nov 27, 6pm thru Thurs., Nov. 28th 8:30am. Late registration price increases to $48. We recommend registering online before arriving at Packet Pickup to make your check-in faster.
