Join us for a day of fun, fitness, and community at the Clear Lake Earth Day Youth Mile, 5K & 10K races on Saturday, April 19th, 2025, in beautiful Clear Lake, Cerro Gordo. This exciting event kicks off the 2025 racing season with a vibrant atmosphere, starting with the Youth Mile at 8:30 a.m., where young runners will navigate three loops around the picturesque City Park, finishing by the scenic seawall. The 5K and 10K races follow at 9 a.m., launching from the Main Avenue boat ramp. Participants will enjoy a stunning lakeside route as they make their way around City Park and along South Shore Drive, before returning to finish in front of the iconic Lady of the Lake.
With multiple age categories and prizes for overall male and female winners, as well as top finishers in various age groups, there’s plenty of incentive to give it your all! Organiser's Description
Kick off the 2025 racing season with Clear Lake's Earth Day Youth Mile, 5K & 10K races on Saturday, April 19th. The Youth Mile will begin at 8:30 a.m. and the 5K & 10K races will begin at 9 a.m.
Youth Mile participants will make 3 loops around City Park, finishing by the seawall.
The 5K & 10K races begin lakeside at the Main Avenue boat ramp. Runners will make one loop around City Park before heading out along South Shore Drive. Once runners reach the designated 5K or 10K turnaround, they'll head back toward City Park, turning left at Main Avenue to finish in front of the Lady of the Lake.
For each race, prizes will be awarded to the overall male and female winners as well as the top male and top female winners from the following age categories: 13 and under, 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70+.

Havens is the Clear Lake High School Head Cross Country Country Coach, Assistant Girls Basketball Coach, Head Track & Field Coach, Clear Lake Earth Day 5K & 10K Race Director and Freedom 5K Race Director.

Runners will make one loop around City Park before heading out along South Shore Drive. At the 5K turnaround located at 20th Ave South, 10K runners will veer right at the Y intersection toward Clear Lake State Park. After running through Clear Lake State Park, runners will continue on South Shore Drive. The 10K turnaround is located near Lakeside Cyclery. At that point, runners will head back toward City Park, turning left at Main Avenue to finish in front of the Lady of the Lake. Prizes will be awarded to the overall male and female winners as well as the top male and top female winners from the following age categories: 13 and under, 14-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70+.
