Join us for the uplifting Coach Archie Duran Memorial 5K Run and 1 Mile Fun Walk on Sunday, April 6, 2025, at Nations Tobin Park in El Paso! This inspiring event starts at 8:00 A.M. and is dedicated to honoring the legacy of Coach Archie Duran, a beloved teacher and coach who tragically lost his life in a bus accident. Participants can choose to run the 5K or stroll in the 1 Mile Fun Walk, all while contributing to a great cause. Proceeds from this event will benefit the Coach Archie Duran Memorial Fund, which provides scholarships to deserving El Paso area students.
Whether you’re a seasoned runner or looking to enjoy a leisurely walk with friends and family, this event promises a memorable experience for all. The first 200 registrants will receive a finisher's medal and special swag, and every participant will be given a T-shirt. There will also be trophies for the overall male and female runners in the 5K, as well as medals for the top three finishers in each age group. Join the Coach Archie Duran Memorial 5K Virtual Run for our 6th Annual Walk/Run. The event, taking place April 6, 2025 will honor the life and legacy of former Jefferson and Irvin High School teacher and coach, Archie Duran, who passed away in a bus accident during a high school sports trip 7 years ago.
Participate with friends and family in our 5K run or 1 Mile Fun Walk one mile for a good cause. All proceeds from this event directly benefit the foundation which provides scholarships to El Paso area students.
Everyone gets a T-shirt, and first 200 registrants receive a finishers medal and SWAG!

The Coach Archie Dur'an Memorial Fund is a non-profit organization created and established in 2018 to celebrate and honor our beloved coach, father, brother, son and husband Archie Dur'an who died in a bus accident bringing his Irvin High girls track team home from a track meet in Lubbock. Durans family set up the Coach Archie Duran Memorial Fund to provide scholarships for the students that Duran cared so much about and to provide funds for teachers to purchase school supplies.
