This was a really nice race! The race was to support breast cancer research and they had special sashes for breast cancer survivors to wear. Everyone got a goody bag that included pink ribbon pins, a granola bar, fruits snacks, and an electrolyte powder. The track was three loops of flat road. It was my first 5K that was a repeating loop and I didn’t do well, but that wasn’t race’s fault. The sorority sisters had well-placed water stations that were enthusiastically manned.
My only complaint was that they ran out of bananas after the race. There has got to be after-race snacks!
The awards ceremony was nice and I am totally in awe of the 75 year old man who finished in just over 28 minutes! I’m planning on doing to Crown run next year and every year thereafter until either the race or I stop.
Oh yeah, cancer sucks!
