Celebrate the start of summer and take in the beauty of Cuyahoga Valley National Park as Old Trail School hosts the 2nd Annual Cuyahoga Valley 5K and Family Fun Run on Saturday, June 8. The fun begins with the 5K cross country run at 9:00 a.m. (sign-in begins at 8:00 a.m.), followed by the 1-mile fun run (for children ages 4 and up, and adults!) to follow at 10:00 a.m. Register early to guarantee a FREE race shirt. Food trucks will be waiting at the finish line. All skill levels are welcome!
5K Course DetailsThe 5K will be run on a natural wooded path with some narrow trails and hills that weave in and out of Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Because accessibility will be limited, jogging strollers are not recommended. The total elevation gain for the 5K course is 79 feet.
1-Mile Family Fun Run DetailsThe Family Fun Run will be run on a flat, all-grass path that loops around Old Trail Schools athletic fields and past the solar array twice. Jogging strollers are permitted. All children, ages 4 and up, will receive finisher medals.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONSAre strollers permitted?Jogging strollers are permitted for the Family Fun Run as the grass path is fairly flat. The 5K will be run on a natural wooded path with some narrow trails and hills that weave in and out of Cuyahoga Valley National Park. Because accessibility will be limited, jogging strollers are not recommended for the 5K.
Are adults allowed to sign-up for the Fun Run?Yes! Adults are welcome to participate in the Fun Run by themselves or—even better—with their children! All participants must be registered.
Will there be prizes?The top three overall men and women 5K finishers will receive medals and a prize pack. All children who complete the Fun Run will receive finisher medals.
Will food be available at the race?Granola bars, bananas and bottles of water will be offered to all 5K finishers. Additionally, anyone at the event may purchase food from Swensons and The Breakfast Box food trucks, which will be parked on the service entrance near the athletic fields. This location is close to the 5K finish line as well as the start and finish lines for the Fun Run. All 5K runners are encouraged to grab a bite to eat after their race and cheer on our Fun Run participants!
