This vibrant event invites you to be part of the 30th Annual Walk for Healthy Living, a signature initiative that motivates African Americans and individuals of African ancestry to embrace a healthier lifestyle through community engagement and physical activity.

Starting at the Anacostia Roller Skating Pavilion, you’ll have the opportunity to participate in onsite registration and warm-ups before we hit the beautiful East Bank Trail. The walk will take you to the iconic Nationals Park and back, making it a scenic route filled with fellowship and fun. This FREE, family-friendly event will not only promote health and wellness in the DMV's African-American community but will also feature a community wellness fair, offering health screenings, "go-go yoga," and more from local wellness vendors. Join us as we walk together towards a healthier future!

Join us to celebrate 30 years of Walking for Wellness! On September 27, 2025, the 298 chapters of The Links, Incorporated will celebrate the 30th Annual Walk for Healthy Living- the national organization's signature program to encourage African Americans and other people of African ancestry to build community and get moving for our collective wellness!

ATTENTION ALL WALKERS: WE WILL MEET AT THE ANACOSTIA ROLLER SKATING PAVILLION FOR ONSITE REGISTRATION AND WARM-UPS: 1500 ANACOSTIA DRIVE, SE, WASHINGTON, DC. We will be walking the _East Bank Trail_ to Nationals Park and returning to the skate pavilion. The CAPITAL CITY (DC) CHAPTER, alongside the METROPOLITAN (DC) CHAPTER of THE LINKS, INCORPORATED, will host the DC LINKS WALK FOR HEALTHY LIVING to promote and celebrate the health and wellness of the DMV's African-American community. This FREE, family-friendly community event will include an afternoon of fellowship and movement along the beautiful Anacostia Riverwalk Trail with members of the Links community, wellness partners, our Ward 8 community members & neighbors, followed by a community "wellness fair" featuring health screenings, "go-go yoga", health screenings, and more provided onsite by community wellness vendors and partners.

    On Saturday, September 27th, 17,000+ Links across the nation will WALK THE WALK for our collective wellness in celebration of the 30th Annual Walk for Healthy Living! For the past thirty years, the Walk has encouraged African Americans and other people of African ancestry to get moving because we know that physical activity helps control weight, reduce blood pressure, reduce the risk of diabetes, and improve mental well-being. The annual Walk allows us to reset our mark on reducing the incidence of chronic diseases that plague our communities. But we know that gathering to move together extends beyond the physical- socializing, fellowship and building community are key factors in maintaining health and well-being. Now, more than ever, community matters!
