DU Crimson Classic 5K Run/1.5 Mile Walk

AboutThe University of Denvers 11th Annual Crimson Classic 5K Run/1.5 Mile Walk will take place on Friday, October 27, 2023 on Carnegie Green Lawn at 3pm. Music, stretching, and snacks will start at 2:15pm. The focus of the Crimson Classic is to celebrate wellness and to bring together our community. This is a free event! Please scroll down for the days schedule. All participants who register will receive a 11th Annual Crimson Classic t-shirt. Lets kick off Homecoming weekend together. #DUCrimsonClassic
Routes TimePlease see the Race Course Map. The afternoons in Denver can reach warm temperatures, please be sure to hydrate prior, during, and after the event. We also may experience rain or even snow during this time of year - so please check the weather to best prepare. Water stations will be located at the Start/Finish line and along the course. Course Distance: 5K (3.2 Miles) = Two (2) laps around the course. The 1.5 Mile Walk = one (1) lap around the course.

10am – 11am       Yoga on Carnegie Green Lawn - Free!
Bring your yoga mats and please join our very own Sarah Manzaneres for a practice in mindful movement yoga on the Carnegie Green Lawn. Start your day with a gentle Vinyasa flow class focusing on the connection of movement to breath and body awareness. Beginners and experienced yoga practitioners are welcome. The class will end with a guided visualization meditation. This class is free!

Regional EmployeesRegional employees and eligible spouses are encouraged to participate in the Crimson Classic 5K Run and Walk by engaging in any physical activity of their choice on that day, and in doing so - you may receive this year’s commemorative Crimson Classic T-shirt, please email welldu.edu with your size (Small – XXXL in unisex sizes) and your mailing address.
Registration and Result Posting InstructionsRegister for the race by clicking Sign Up. It is free for all participants. During registration, you will be asked to sign a waiver. If you are joining the race day-of there will be paper waivers for you to sign at the registration table or a QR code for you to fill out registration via your phone. Race Results will be posted on Carnegie Green Lawn following the race.
Event ExclusionsPlease be aware of your surroundings while racing. Strollers are allowed, but please ensure to start in the back after all other runners and walkers. Pets are not allowed on course. Service animals are allowed. Participants under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
