Kicking off at 8:30 AM from Rotary Park, this fun run/walk invites both runners and walkers to enjoy a scenic route along the Animas River Trail, covering a distance of 3.1 miles. Participants will head north for 1.55 miles before turning back to finish at Rotary Park. This zero-waste event encourages everyone to bring their own water, promoting sustainability while supporting a great cause.
All proceeds from the Earth Day 5K will benefit Compa~neros, a vital organization dedicated to serving immigrants in the region with essential services like resource navigation and community engagement. After the race, don't miss the chance to participate in a raffle for both participants and spectators! Stick around to celebrate Earth Day with a parade at 10:30 AM and a lively festival at Buckley Park from 11 AM to 3 PM. Organiser's Description
Please join the Durango Running Club for the inaugural Earth Day 5K! The race will be on 04/18/26 at 8:30 AM at Rotary Park in Durango. Runners and walkers will go north on the Animas River Trail from Rotary Park, and will run or walk 1.55 miles north to just before 32nd Street. Participants will then turn around and finish at Rotary park. Please note this will be a Zero Waste event. Participants are encouraged to carry their own water.
This event is a fun run/walk format, and there will be no chip timing or prizes.
All proceeds from the race will go to benefit Compa~neros. As the only organization in our region with its primary focus on serving immigrants, Compa~neros offers unique and crucial services to our community. Services offered by Compa~neros include resource navigation, legal services, education outreach, and community engagement.
