Kicking off at 8:30 AM at Rotary Park, this fun run/walk invites participants to take in the stunning scenery along the Animas River Trail. Runners and walkers will venture 1.55 miles north before turning around to finish back at the park. This event promotes sustainability as a Zero Waste initiative, encouraging everyone to carry their own water to reduce waste.
All proceeds from the Earth Day 5K will benefit Compa~neros, a vital organization focused on supporting immigrants in the community through essential services like resource navigation and legal assistance. After the race, continue the celebration at Durango's Earth Day festivities, featuring a parade at 10:30 AM and a vibrant festival in Buckley Park from 11 AM to 3 PM. Organiser's Description
Please join the Durango Running Club for the inaugural Earth Day 5K! The race will be on 04/18/26 at 8:30 AM at Rotary Park in Durango. Runners and walkers will go north on the Animas River Trail from Rotary Park, and will run or walk 1.55 miles north to just before 32nd Street. Participants will then turn around and finish at Rotary park. Please note this will be a Zero Waste event. Participants are encouraged to carry their own water.
This event is a fun run/walk format, and there will be no chip timing or prizes.
All proceeds from the race will go to benefit Compa~neros. As the only organization in our region with its primary focus on serving immigrants, Compa~neros offers unique and crucial services to our community. Services offered by Compa~neros include resource navigation, legal services, education outreach, and community engagement.
