Get ready for an exhilarating experience at the Effingham County Fair 5K, taking place on Saturday, July 27, 2024, in the vibrant city of Altamont, Effingham. This exciting race will kick off the annual fair week, allowing participants to enjoy a scenic 3.1-mile course that starts and finishes on the horse track in front of the grandstands. Runners will embark on a thrilling loop around the track, venture through the fairgrounds, and make their way to the new ACHS/AGS Track, all while being cheered on by music and fellow fairgoers.
With professional chip timing provided by Kinetic Timing, you'll have an accurate measure of your performance as you race against the clock. Be sure to register before July 21 to secure your exclusive race shirt, as there will be no shirts available on race morning. Packet pickup and registration will be held from 6:45 to 7:15 AM, with the race starting promptly at 7:30 AM. Awards will be presented to the top three male and female finishers, adding an extra layer of excitement to the event. Organiser's Description
The Race will start and finish on the horse track in front of the grandstands, you will take a loop around the track out into the fairgrounds finishing on the track where you started and completing 3.1 Miles with music, Start and Finish.
Professional chip timing by Kinetic Timing will be used to time the race.
Register before July 21st to guarantee a Race Shirt. NO SHIRTS AVAILABLE ON RACE MORNING.
Race Morning Packet pickup and Race day registration will be between 6:45 - 7:15am, Race START at 7:30 AM sharp
The runners will begin on the Fairgrounds track in front of the grand stands, complete 4/5th of the track and exit the track on the south entrance road then runners will head toward Gilbert Park between the ball fields and onto the NEW ACHS/AGS Track, complete two loops, grab some water and head back toward the south of Gilbert Park. Then head back on the south entrance road toward the south entrance of the Fairgrounds track near the stables and run another 4/5th of the Fairs track. Water will be position at 1 locations on the course just after the 1st mile (1.15) just as you begin your country grass loop.
Awards will be given to the Top 3 Male and Female Runners.
