Empire State Half Marathon

The Empire State Half Marathon and 5k are the flattest and fastest half marathon course on the East Coast.  In just 4+ laps around Rockland Lake State Park, you'll walk away with a big shiny medal, a tech race shirt, and hopefully a shiny new personal best!

Course
The course is a USATF-certified loop around scenic Rockland Lake.
 
Course Profile 
As shown on the Rockland Lake Half Marathon Strava Segment, the course has 135' of elevation over the 13.1 miles. The difference between its highest elevation point (170') and lowest (155') is just 15', making it a pancake flat loop.
 
Corrals
Runners will be put in corrals based on estimated seed times provided during registration.
 
Fueling Stations
There are water stations every mile with both water and Gatorade.
 
Elite Athlete Program (EAP)
The EAP provides a complimentary entry, personal water stations, preferred baggage claim, and for some, free lodging. Please email [email protected] your running resume for consideration.

Empire State Challenge: Completing both the 5k and HM

Masters Prize Money (Age Graded)

Partnership with Garden State 10 
Both the Empire State HM and Garden State 10 are presented by the Garden State Track Club, a 501c3 non-profit organization. In addition to offering discounts on both races in 2023, runners have the chance to earn the oversized GW Bridge Medal.
The Garden State 10 Miler is on Sunday, March 26, 2023 in Colonial Park (Somerset, NJ).
 
GW Bridge Medal
Any runner finishing both the Garden State 10 Miler (on March 26, 2023) and Empire State Half Marathon will receive the GW Bridge medal at the awards at the conclusion of the Empire State Half.
