Eve Carson Memorial 5K for Education

The 2023 Eve Carson Memorial 5K for Education is an event to celebrate the outstanding leadership and support of community service Eve Carson exhibited during her time at UNC-Chapel Hill. This year, the 16th Annual Eve Carson Memorial 5K will be held on November 12th, 2023 with registration and check-in starting at 6:30 am and the race beginning at 7:30am!
We have a great route starting and finishing at the Campus Y. We’ll have a great banner in front of the Campus Y for you to take your finish line pictures! Make sure you take plenty of pictures and tag us on your social media with #evecarson2023 on Instagram so we can repost you. This year, we are excited to announce that the current UNC Student Body President has declared that the week preceding Thanksgiving every year will be Every Moment Counts (EMC) Week, inspired by Eve Marie Carsons dedication to living every moment to the fullest. The Eve Carson Memorial 5K will kick off EMC week, and the virtual 5K can be completed at any point throughout this week. We will have a Strava group that virtual runners can join to track their run or walk and compete with other participants throughout the week, increasing the accessibility of the race beyond November 12th.
The Eve Carson 5K has become one of the most widely supported philanthropy events in the Carolina community, and with your help, we hope to have another tremendously successful event! Proceeds from this year’s event will once again benefit the Eve Marie Carson Memorial Junior-Year Merit Scholarship and the Pi Beta Phi Literacy Fund.
