Join us for the Explore More Outdoors 5K Trail Run/Walk at scenic Gifford Pinchot State Park! This event takes you off the pavement and onto the park’s beautiful trails, where you’ll experience fresh air, wooded paths, and the peaceful sounds of nature along the way. Whether you’re a seasoned runner looking for a fun challenge or someone who simply wants to walk and enjoy the outdoors, this course is welcoming to all paces and ages. Every step supports our mission to make outdoor experiences more accessible and to share the healing power of nature with our community.

Course Details

This trail is a mix of rocky, gravel, grass, and paved hills and flat lands. If you are looking for a challenging start with a smooth finish, this is perfect for you! This is also a trail that allows you to take in the scenic outdoors of Pinchot State Park, so walkers are welcome! We encourage everyone of all levels to try this trail for a slight challenge with a rewarding finish!

When you register for the Explore More Outdoors 5K Trail Run/Walk, you’ll receive more than just a race entry — you’ll get the full experience! Participants will pick up their race bibs and goodie bags the day of the event. Each runner/walker will also get: A commemorative race shirt. How to Get There

Gifford Pinchot, Conewago Day Use Area. If you are using apple maps, type in "Pinchot Parking Lot" and it will take you to the correct area. The address is Gifford Pinchot State Park Wellsville, PA 17365. If you use google maps, Waze, etc. type in Conewago Day Use Area and it will come up. Just double check that it is Wellsville PA, 17365.

Parking

We will have one lane of the parking lot blocked off but the rest is availble and free.

FAQs

  • Can I register the day of the event?

    Our online registration closes September 11th, 2025, at 7 pm EST. You can register day of, but we cannot guarantee we will have a T-shirt available for you. The race fee will also be $30 on race day.

  • Can I pick up my bib/chip the day before?

    No. Race bibs and chips can be picked up the day of the event from 7am until 8:15am. The race starts at 8:30 am.
