With over 500 homeless veterans facing harsh winter conditions, this event aims to provide hot meals and winter survival kits to those in need.
After the race, runners and volunteers will have the unique opportunity to assemble sandwiches and soup for delivery to homeless veterans, as well as pack essential hygiene supplies and warm items like gloves and blankets. Registration for the 5K is $35 until October 24th, with options for a discounted entry for youth and a 1-mile fun run. Participants will receive a commemorative bib, custom race shirt, and a finisher medal, along with the chance to earn awards in various age categories. THE 3RD ANNUAL "FEED A VETERAN 5K" IS SCHEDULED FOR SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 8, 2025. WATCH THIS PAGE FOR REGISTRATION UPDATES.
D.C. has over 500 homeless veterans living on the streets or temporary housing facilities. During the winter months, these veterans face extreme cold out in the elements and have no where to turn for support and a hot meal.
The Feed a Veteran 5K on Saturday, November 8, 2025 is a fun 3.1 mile road race on an enclosure golf car path of Old Hickory Golf Course in Woodbridge, VA. The race is organized with community partners to raise money and provide hot food and winter survival kits for the homeless veterans in DC and provide suicide prevention programs for veterans.
What makes this race incredibly unique is that after the race, all participants and volunteers will have the opportunity to assemble sandwiches and soup that will be delivered to these homeless veterans the afternoon after the race! Additionally everyone will be able to pack winter survival kits (hygiene supples, gloves, socks, blankets, etc.) that USASOA delivers to these homeless veterans in the month of December.

Packets will be available for pick up on Friday, November 7th, from 3-6 pm at Road Runner Sports, (1120 W Broad St, Falls Church, VA 22046). You can also pick up your packet on race day from 7-7:45 am at the race site. _NOTE* IF YOU REGISTER ON 11/7/25 PLEASE PLAN TO PICK UP YOUR PACKET ON RACE MORNING. _
Be sure to register before October 25th, to guarantee a shirt.
