Finger Lakes Ride for Life

Fri 11th September 2026

A group of cyclists wearing helmets and race bibs gather with their bikes in a parking lot before a cycling event, engaging in conversation and preparing for the race. A tall, narrow waterfall cascades into a round basin surrounded by steep rocky cliffs and dense green forest under a cloudy sky. A small path circles the water below. A man in a colorful cycling jersey talks to two seated women at a registration table indoors, with forms, snacks, and a "Rider Heroes" sign in the background. Two cyclists rest near their bikes by a lake. One sits on a railing while the other stands nearby. A dock extends into the water and hills are visible in the background under a cloudy sky. A group of cyclists wearing helmets and colorful jerseys gather with their bikes in a parking lot, preparing for a ride. Green hills and cloudy skies form the background. A group of cyclists wearing helmets and colorful jerseys ride closely together on a road during a race or group ride, with a cloudy sky and distant hills in the background. A cyclist rides along a rural road with green fields and old barns in the background. Power lines run parallel to the road, and trees border the fields under an overcast sky.

Organiser's Description

Finger Lakes Ride for Life (formerly AIDS Ride for Life) — Ithaca, NY

Join us for the Finger Lakes Ride for Life, an annual cycling fundraiser set against the breathtaking backdrop of Cayuga Lake in the heart of the Finger Lakes. Whether you're a seasoned cyclist or a casual rider, this is a day of community, purpose, and stunning scenery — with route options of 14 - 42, 90, or 100 miles to suit every level. Riders enjoy full support throughout the event, including seven pit stops around the lake, bike repair technicians, sag vehicle coverage, a midway lunch stop, and a celebratory finish line festival.

This ride brings together cyclists from across the region — and beyond — united by a shared belief that everyone deserves care, compassion, and community.
Every mile you ride and dollar raised supports the Southern Tier AIDS Program (STAP), a nonprofit that has been serving Tompkins, Broome, Chenango, Chemung, Cortland, Delaware, Otsego, and Tioga counties of New York since 1984. STAP provides free, confidential HIV/AIDS testing, overdose reversal training, syringe exchanges, education, care management, and support services across those eight counties — all built around a simple but powerful philosophy: meet people where they are, without judgment.
Central to STAP's mission is harm reduction. Through their Prevention Point Syringe Exchange Program, mobile drug checking services, and Narcan overdose prevention training, STAP works on the front lines of the overdose crisis — giving people access to safer use supplies, life-saving resources, and the dignity of being treated as a whole person. No strings attached.
