This festive event kicks off at 8:00 AM at the Peru Fire Department, located at 85 W Canal St. Celebrate Independence Day by running or walking this vibrant 5K, complete with awesome cotton tie-dye shirts, custom finisher medals, and a variety of fun goodies in your grab bag.
Race day registration runs from 7:00 AM to 7:45 AM, with early registration available until June 1 for just $20. Late registration is $25, so be sure to secure your spot early! Participants will compete for exciting awards in various age categories as well as the coveted title of Most Patriotic Participant. Plus, all entrants will have a chance to win a Garmin Forerunner in a special drawing! Proceeds from the event will benefit the Miami County YMCA, supporting youth development and healthy living initiatives. Celebrate Independence Day by participating in the 22nd Annual Firecracker 5K in Peru, Indiana!!! Awesome Cotton Tie-Dye shirts, custom designed finisher medals, disposable tag timing, great food, cool grab bag goodies, a Garmin Forerunner Drawing, and awards (including Most Patriotic Participants) are all included (MUST register by June 24, 2026 in order to guarantee a shirt and a grab bag).
