The Floppin Flounder 5K Run/Walk is one of Charlestons favorite local 5Ks. Presented by the Charleston Running Club [http://www.charlestonrunningclub.com] (CRC) with help from the Sullivans Island Fire & Rescue Department, this event has had a loyal following for over 25 years.
We offer a 5K Run and a walk option, and all participants receive a race shirt and finishers medal.
Proceeds from Floppin Flounder benefit the Sullivans Island Fire & Rescue Dept., CRC, and other local charities.
AGE GROUP AND AWARD BREAKDOWN
* Top 3 overall male and female
* First Master (40 years and older) male and female
* First Grandmaster (50 years and older) male and female
* First Great Grandmaster (60 years and older) male and female
* Top 3 in the following age groups (Ages 10 and under, 11-14,15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85 and over. )
In addition, we present the Peyton Moore award to the fastest boy and girl under age 12. This award is in memory of one of CRCs youngest and most enthusiastic members, Peyton Moore, who passed away on June 4, 2013. Learn more about Peyton [http://www.run4p.com/].
This event takes place rain or shine. It will be hot, so please hydrate and wear sunscreen!
PACKET PICK UP
Early packet pick up is on Thursday, May 28 at Fleet Feet Mount Pleasant from 11 AM to 6 PM.
Race day packet pick up is Saturday, May 30 at the Fish Fry Shack from 6:15 AM until 7:45 AM. We will close packet pick up promptly at 7:45 AM so we can start the run/walk on time (8 AM)
