Get ready for an exhilarating adventure at the Foy's to Blacktail Trail Marathon, taking place on Sunday, July 13, 2025, in beautiful Kalispell, Flathead! This year marks the 7th annual running of this spectacular point-to-point mountain marathon, which showcases the stunning trails of the Foy's to Blacktail Trail system. Runners will gather at Herron Park at 5:45 A.M. for a pre-race meeting and bib assignment before being shuttled to the starting line at the breathtaking Lakeside to Blacktail Trail.

Participants can look forward to an unforgettable race experience, complete with the chance to win exciting prizes such as a $100 bill and a pair of running shoes! In addition to the marathon, the event features various trail races including a half marathon, 10k, and 5k, all of which play a vital role in supporting trail maintenance and development in the area. Don't forget to bring your bear spray, as wildlife encounters are a possibility on this scenic course! Organiser's Description

Join us for our 7th year of our point-to-point mountain marathon show casing the newest trails on the Foy's to Blacktail Trail system! Racers with gather at Herron Park at _5:45 A.M. FOR A PRE-RACE MEETING_ and bib assignment, then will be bussed to the start at the Lakeside to Blacktail Trail. More details about the course (see cool interactive map from OnX Backcountry), drop bags, etc., can be found on the main website, FOY'S TO BLACKTAIL TRAIL MARATHON [https://www.ftbtraces.com/marathon]. We are also planning to have a get together at Bias Brewing in Kalispell from 6-8 p.m. after the race.

_ALL RUNNERS WILL BE ELIGIBLE FOR A RANDOM GIVE AWAY OF A $100 BILL AND POTENTIALLY A FEW OTHER GOODIES LIKE A PAIR OF RUNNING SHOES!!_

Remember to bring your_ BEAR SPRAY_. All racers must race with it because there is a real risk of running into wildlife such as bears and/or mountain lions that feel threatened and get aggressive. Even those at the back of the pack need to be aware of startling any of these charismatic megafauna.



There will be a strict 12 pm cut off time to reach the Emmons Saddle aid station, however even the slowest runners in the past have made it under this cut off. You will need to be moving at an average pace of >3 mph to meet this cut off.



This race, along with the Herron Half Marathon, 10k, & 5k trail races, are our longest-running annual fundraisers. The money raised from the races goes directly to building and maintaining trails in the 34-mile FTBT system, including new trails on Emmons Ridge south to Blacktail Mountain. Here's how it works:

Sign up and complete each of the following:

* Herron 1/2 marathon
* Foy's to Blacktail Trail Marathon
* Whitefish Trail Blazer 50k
* Le Grizz 50 mile race

All finishers of these 4 races will receive a yet-to be-determined award, including a voucher to one of those races in 2026.

At the end of the year, Competitive Timing will compile a list of all who have completed the series as well as a leader board. We may get other sponsors to throw in a few other treats, too!
