Since its inception in 2012, this exciting event has inspired individuals and families to get active and enjoy a fun-filled day. The festivities kick off at 8 AM with a delightful Kids' 1/2 mile Color Run on school grounds, followed by a scenic 5K Run/Walk along the beautiful Fox River Bike Path.
This event is perfect for everyone, whether you're a seasoned runner, a casual walker, or a family looking for a fun day out. In addition to the races, participants can look forward to a variety of engaging activities post-race, including games, face-painting, and bouncy houses that the kids will love! Don’t miss the chance to indulge in a delicious pancake breakfast hosted by the local school PTA, creating a wonderful opportunity for families to bond and connect with the community. Organiser's Description
Started in 2012, the Go Fish 5k and Kids' Color Run had a goal of getting people off the couch and active. This includes active teens and adults, older individuals who would not traditionally consider participating in a 5k, as well as families. Entire families are encouraged to participate together, with awards going to the fastest individuals and fastest families. Starting at 8am, there is a Kid's 1/2 mile Color run on the school grounds followed by a 5K Run/Walk on the Fox River Bike Path. To encourage families to participate there are plenty of activities post-race including games, face-painting and bouncy houses. The affiliated school PTA also hosts a pancake breakfast to encourage families to spend additional time together and in community. All proceeds benefit the Fish Food Pantry of Carpentersville, our local food pantry for families in need.

CLOSEDThe Go Fish Kids' Color Run is about a 1/2 mile course on the property next to Immanuel Lutheran School. There will be color powder 'throwers' to monitor the kids while on the course. This is not a timed race. The kids have lots of fun! We suggest kids wear clear glasses/sunglasses to protect their eyes. Color run kids will get a white 5K tshirt. Deadline for registration to guarantee a tshirt is 7/30/26. After that, we may have a few extra. If child is getting a colored 5K shirt, wear a plain white tshirt for the Color Run to see the fun powder on their shirts. Online Registration ends 8/13/26 at 4pm. Register at the 'Check in' tent the morning of the race up until the start of the race.
