Kick off your training with an orientation night on July 11th at 6 PM at the Track Store, just past Target, where you’ll receive a 12-week guided training plan tailored to your needs. Beginning on July 20th, each Sunday morning, you’ll embark on scenic long runs at various trailheads, immersing yourself in the beauty of the outdoors while connecting with a supportive community of fellow runners. Whether you’re new to the trails or aiming to conquer your sixth half-marathon, this program will help you reach your goals. Plus, you can save $10 by signing up with a running buddy using the "train-for-fun" code. Join us for an unforgettable experience

Organiser's Description

-Registration opens on July 1 and will remain open until July 20th.

-Orientation night will be July 11 @6pm at the Trakc Store, just past Target, in Grass Valley CA.

-Runners will be provided with a 12-week guided training plan designed to help the runner gain confidence and fitness to tackle a half marathon.

-Beginning on July 20th, every Sunday morning will be dedicated to the long run. We will meet at different trailheads to discover scenic routes, have fun, build confidence on the trails, and connect with a community of fellow runners.

-Ideally, runners interested in training should be able to comfortably run a 5K and log at least 6 miles a week to begin their half-marathon quest.

-If runners are new to the trails or simply want to increase their distance, this training is perfect in preparation for their first or 6th half-marathon race and beyond!

-All participants are encouraged to utilize the Sierra TrailBlazer's weekly runs to supplement their training with group support.

-Each runner will be given a training plan to follow and adapt to their lives and needs as they train to race and enjoy the Champion Mine Trail Race or _ANY_ half-marathon during the fall of 2025.

- Train-for-fun code can be used if you and your running buddy sign up at the same time for the Half Marathon training, save $10 for both!

    Each Sunday, STBRC will host a group run to complete the long run miles. The group will run on various trails in Nevada County, including sections of the Champion Mine Trail Race. Distances for the long run will vary from 4 miles to 11 miles. To begin the training, participants should feel comfortable running a 5K distance.
