Race day registration kicks off at 7:30 AM at the DWU/Avera Sports & Wellness Complex, with the official race starting at 8:00 AM. The scenic route will take you through the charming streets of Mitchell, beginning and ending on Norway Street. Don’t miss out on a chance to be one of the first 25 participants to register and receive a complimentary Heart & Sole swag bag! PLEASE JOIN US FOR THE MITCHELL HEART & SOLE 5K RUN/WALK! THE 2026 THEME IS RETRO RUN! WE ENCOURAGE RUNNERS TO DRESS UP IN THEIR BEST 70S OR EARLY 80S WORKOUT GEAR, MAYBE CHANNEL YOUR RICHARD SIMMONS OR BEST JAZZERCISE OUTFIT!
Proceeds from the race will go toward financial assistance for patients in the Mitchell and the surrounding communities who are currently undergoing cancer treatment. All our funds stay local!
THE RUN/WALK WILL TAKE PLACE ON MAY 2ND, 2026. Race day registration will begin at 7:30 am at the entrance of the DWU/Avera Sports & Wellness Complex on Norway St. Official race time starts at 8:00 am. The run will start and end on Norway street across from the DWU/Avera Sports & Wellness Complex (near the DWU/LB Williams campus entrance).
THE FIRST 25 PARTICIPANTS TO REGISTER WILL RECEIVE A FREE HEART & SOLE SWAG BAG!
RACE ROUTE: The route will begin on the DWU/Avera Sports & Wellness Complex campus at 500 W Norway. Route will begin at the start line on the sidewalk and head east on Norway street, turn north on Duff street, east on Hurst avenue, south on Rowley street, east on Cabelas drive, west on Spruce street, North on Rowley street, and back west on Norway avenue.
