In 2001, 29 year old Brad Kaminsky passed away after a long fight with brain cancer. Before he died, Brads family and friends promised him that they would never stop fighting for a cure for cancer, and that fight continues today with the 16th annual Super Heroes of Hope Race. Since 2001, the Brad Kaminsky Foundation has donated over one million dollars to cancer research. The foundation is run by Brads sister, Lisa Millar. Lisa continues her brothers fight every day by helping those impacted and organizing events all over the country. Lisa has received numerous awards and recognitions for her tireless contributions to the field of cancer research, but her most important achievement is keeping her promise to her brother.
The SuperHeroes of Hope Race returns to Los Angeles for the 16th year on Sunday, November 12, 2023 at Dockweiler State Beach in Playa del Rey, CA. Set against the Pacific Ocean, the event brings together thousands of runners from all across the country united in one cause--to help those affected by brain tumors and childhood cancer. Runners have the opportunity to participate in a 5k, 10k, or have the option to run in both races. Kids have the opportunity to participate in an untimed 1k fun run complete with superhero cape or tutu. And runners from across the country and around the world can participate virtually at their own pace, in their own time and on their own course.
