Get ready to lace up your running shoes for the Hiester Cares 5K Run-Walk to Prevent, taking place on Saturday, November 14, 2026, in the vibrant community of Fuquay-Varina, Wake. Over the past four years, the race has attracted more than 700 participants and raised an incredible $350,000, making a significant impact in the fight against suicide.
The USATF-certified 5K course will take you through the scenic grounds of Fuquay Varina High School, primarily along broad sidewalks, ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all runners and walkers. Participants will be treated to a stylish race t-shirt and a swag bag filled with goodies. Plus, there are awards for the top three overall men and women, as well as for age divisions ranging from 15 & under to 70+. Join us for a day of community, camaraderie, and compassion as we run to make a difference!

Organiser's Description
This is a race put on by the Hiester Cares Foundation. Proceeds from the race will be donated to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. In the past 4 years we have had over 700 runners and raised over $350,000!
The 5K course is entirely on the campus of Fuquay Varina High School, mostly on broad sidewalks. It is USATF certified.
