Join us for the 5th Annual Hill Thrill 5k or 10 Mile Road Race on Sunday, March 29, 2026, in the charming town of Haverhill, Essex! This exciting event not only promises a thrilling race experience but also supports a noble cause—the Michelle Benedetti Memorial Scholarship Fund, which awards scholarships to deserving students at Haverhill High School. Participants can choose between a scenic 5k route, perfect for seasoned runners and casual walkers alike, or challenge themselves with the 10-mile distance, ideal for those in marathon training.
With gun time set for 10am and same-day registrations closing at 9:30am, there's plenty of time to join in the fun! Over 400 runners participated last year, and we aim to surpass that number this time around. Each participant will receive a fantastic t-shirt and an Ashworth Awards race medallion. Celebrate your achievements at the afterparty at Maria's Restaurant on Essex St, where prizes will be awarded, and the community will come together to honor Michelle Benedetti's legacy as a dedicated social advocate and passionate runner. Don’t miss out on a day filled with camaraderie, competition, and community spirit!

After a wildly successful 4 years, the 5th Annual Michelle Benedetti Memorial Scholarship Fund proudly announces the Hill Thrill Road Race on March 29, 2026. Our afterparty at Maria's on Essex St will also return. In 2025 we had over 400 registrations and will be shooting to beat it! We will once again be giving out great t-shirts and Ashworth Awards race medallion for all participants. Gun time 10am! Same day registrations close at 9:30am
All of the proceeds support four yearly scholarships awarded to students at Haverhill High school. Michelle Benedetti worked in social services for more than two decades, a majority of which was spent advocating for children in Haverhill and surrounding towns. Michelle was also an avid runner who enjoyed running many races with family and friends. On May 30th 2019, far too soon, Michelle lost a courageous battle with metastatic breast cancer. This event honors her love of running and her advocacy for children.
In true HaverHILL fashion the 5k route is great for seasoned runners, avid walkers, or anyone in between. The 10-miler will be a nice tempo run for our friends in marathon training or anyone looking to take on a larger challenge. There will be prizes for the top 3 male and female competitors in multiple age brackets, raffles and lots of great swag for purchase. As mentioned, Maria's Restaurant (81 Essex St. Haverhill) will be hosting the afterparty where we will distribute the prizes and celebrate Michelle!
