Get ready to lace up your running shoes for the 10th Annual Honor Our Heroes 5K Memorial Run, happening on Saturday, May 24, 2025, in the picturesque city of Oldsmar, Pinellas! This uplifting event not only celebrates fitness and community spirit but also pays tribute to our heroes in recognition of Memorial Day. The race kicks off at 7:15 AM near Oldsmar City Hall, with opening ceremonies beginning at 7:00 AM. Participants will enjoy a scenic 3.1-mile route that winds past the Veterans Memorial Park and along the serene waters of upper Tampa Bay.
Whether you’re a competitive runner, a casual jogger, or a family out for a leisurely stroll with pets and strollers, this event is designed for everyone. All net proceeds from the run will support local initiatives, including food assistance and community projects, thanks to the dedicated volunteers from Oldsmar Cares and VFW Post 12186. We are very proud to announce the 10th Annual HONOR OUR HEROES 5K MEMORIAL RUN!
___OLDSMAR CARES_ [https://oldsmarcares.org/] is a for-impact 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that operates solely on the support of volunteers and donors. Serving the local community since 1997, we offer assistance as a food pantry, clothing closet, and other essentials, such as temporary rent and utility assistance, to those facing difficult times while keeping families together.
ON SATURDAY, 24 MAY 2025, and in recognition of Memorial Day, we continue our collaboration and veteran outreach with _VFW POST 12186._ [http://www.VFW12186.org] Our two distinguished nonprofit organizations are a 100% all-volunteer force. We are working together for a better community, and all net proceeds from the event will go toward supporting our efforts to serve residents, families, veterans, and community projects.
This year, along with a fantastic lineup of sponsors and vendors, we welcome back TAMPA BAY BREWING COMPANY (TBBC) and THREE BROTHERS NY PIZZA to help expand our afterparty menu! You won't want to miss it.
THE RACE: The opening ceremonies will begin at 7:00 am near Oldsmar City Hall. The race will start at 7:15 am, and the participants will be led down past the Veterans Memorial Park and along the beautiful waters of upper Tampa Bay.
This 5k (3.1 miles) is designed for everyone from competitive runners to casual joggers, pet walkers, and even some pushing their strollers. The finish line will greet our finishers with beverages and food for everyone.
THE AWARDS! Along with your race shirts and stuffed swag bags, we will also present awards for the overall Male & Female winners. As well as the top 3 finishers in each age bracket. _Brackets include:_ ages 9 and under and then every five-year increments until 70 and over.
