Join us for the HTC Winter Series Barkhamsted on Sunday, January 11, 2026, in the stunning Northwest Hills of Barkhamsted, Connecticut! This exciting event features two race distances: an 8.5-mile course and a challenging 17-mile option, making it perfect for runners of all levels.
Starting at the Matthies Grove Parking area in People's State Forest, participants will enjoy a scenic route that winds through picturesque rolling hills alongside the Farmington River. The course takes you outbound on East River Road, through the charming Riverton center on Route 20, and back on West River Road. With a limit of just 150 participants, this hand-timed club run promises a friendly and intimate atmosphere. While registration is free, we encourage donations to help cover event costs and support future events. Organiser's Description
This is a hand timed, club run through beautiful Barkhamsted, CT. It starts at Matthies Grove Parking area, People's State Forest, 106 East River Road 06063. The course consists of rolling hills that meander along the Farmington River, outbound on East River Rd, left on Rte 20 through Riverton center, and inbound on West River Road. The race is entirely on roads. _NOTE: LIMITED TO 150 PARTICIPANTS._
If you are finished after the first lap (8.5 miles) proceed to the finish table and provide your name to the timer.
If you're up for 17 miles (corrected distance), continue on for another lap when you reach Mathies Grove again. At the conclusion of the second lap, proceed to the finish and make sure to provide the timer with your name.
