Join the movement for change at the IPPS MOVE AGAINST PELVIC PAIN CHALLENGE, taking place from April 28 to June 15, 2025! This inspiring event aims to raise awareness for the nearly 25 million Americans and countless others worldwide who suffer from chronic pelvic pain. May is Pelvic Pain Awareness Month, and this challenge encourages participants to engage in physical activity to combat pain and promote wellness.

Participants can choose from a variety of virtual activities, including a 10K run/walk, a 5K run/walk, a 10/20K bike ride, as well as fun options like Zoom Pilates, Bollywood dance, or yoga. Whether you’re lacing up your shoes solo or rallying friends, family, or pets to join, every step you take makes a difference. Plus, all funds raised will support important research initiatives through the International Pelvic Pain Society. Don’t miss out on this unique opportunity to move your body, raise awareness, and contribute to a worthy cause!

Nearly 25 MILLION Americans and 25% of the world's population suffer with chronic pelvic pain. Most suffer in silence, with little access to healthcare. The IPPS MOVE AGAINST PELVIC PAIN CHALLENGE is our way of showing they are not alone during May is Pelvic Pain Awareness Month. Throughout the month of May we make an extra effort to spread the word about pelvic pain as part of PELVIC PAIN AWARNESS MONTH! This year we will extend the virtual challenges to run through June 15th. This way you can move your body after sitting for 2 days at our virtual Annual Scientific Meeting on Pelvic Pain!

Research shows that movement and activity is one of the best ways to combat pain. In this challenge, YOU CAN CHOSE ANY COMBINATION OF EVENTS, VIRTUAL 10K RUN/WALK, VIRTUAL 5K RUN/WALK, VIRTUAL 10/20K BIKE RIDE, ZOOM PILATES, BOLLYWOOD DANCE OR YOGA! So sign up, lace up your shoes, grab a friend, family member or pet and MOVE WITH US AGAINST PELVIC PAIN!

By signing up for this race YOU CAN MAKE A REAL DIFFERENCE, keep your body active and help others who live in pain. This class focuses on pelvic floor awareness, guided breathwork, and relaxation techniques to calm the nervous system. Through a series of gentle stretches and hip-opening movements, we will release built-up tension and cultivate a sense of ease and freedom. As we nurture the bodys foundation, you'll learn to tune into your pelvic floor, and bring mindful attention to your breath, encouraging deep relaxation and balance. Whether you're new to yoga or experienced, this class offers a safe and nurturing space for all. Come unwind, stretch, and restore your bodys natural flow. Carson is a dedicated pelvic health physical therapist and pelvic health sexuality counselor, specializing in holistic, comprehensive care. With advanced training in the psychosocial components of pain, a strong belief in the mind-body connection, and a deep understanding that nervous system regulation is the foundation for improved health, Carson empowers her patients toward better health and overall well-being. She has taught meditation and yoga classes and has developed and hosted self-care courses in New York City. With a background in pilates, weight lifting, and marathon running, Carson uses her expertise to help clients achieve all of their movement goals and feel their best. Carson enjoys working with individuals of all genders and ages with orthopedic and pelvic health concerns, including bladder/bowel function, perinatal care, and sexual function. She is sex-positive, gender-affirming, and kink-informed, creating a safe, inclusive space to foster supportive, transformative relationships with each patient. She is also a co-author of a textbook by The International Society for the Study of Vulvovaginal Disease on Lichens Sclerosis. Carson resides in Brooklyn, NY. Outside of work, she can be found enjoying art, theatre, and live music around the city, and staying physically active through dancing, biking, running, swimming, hiking, and skiing whenever she can.

    Yoga Flow with Dustienne Miller, PT, MS, WCS, CYT Soften Your Pelvic Floor with Yoga. People experiencing pelvic pain may find it challenging to release pelvic floor muscle overactivity. In this class led by physical therapist and yoga teacher Dustienne Miller, well spend our time exploring warm-ups, breath work, yoga postures and a guided relaxation that encourage releasing holding patterns in the pelvic floor. All levels of yoga experience welcome. You will receive an email with the event Zoom Link close to the date of the event. Dustienne Miller, PT, MS, WCS, CYT is a board-certified womens health physical therapist and yoga teacher. In addition to her clinical practice Flourish Physical Therapy (Boston, MA), she is the creator of the pelvic health yoga videos series ""Your Pace Yoga"". She authored a two-day continuing education course and teaches it to pelvic health rehabilitation practitioners around the country. Prior to specializing in pelvic health, she performed in musicals around the US, worked as a physical therapist backstage for Broadway shows, and currently teaches theatre jazz dance at Boston Conservatory. Introduced to IPPS when working for former president Amy Stein, Dustienne always looks forward to the annual meetings where she enjoys teaching the morning yoga sessions. She had the honor of presenting in Baltimore at the main conference and is always inspired by the multi-disciplinary programming, resources, and community that IPPS provides.
  • PILATES AGAINST PELVIC PAIN - Kierstin Elliot
