This vibrant event celebrates the memory of Jaysn Flynn Jameson while supporting the Jaysn Jameson Memorial Scholarship Fund at Southwestern University. Participants will enjoy a thrilling trail race on the scenic Cross-Country Course, perfect for runners of all skill levels.
In addition to the in-person race, we're thrilled to offer a virtual option, allowing participants to run the 5K or walk the 1 Mile at their convenience during the weekend of October 25th to October 27th. Whether you're racing for trophies or simply enjoying a leisurely walk, there's something for everyone! Don't miss out on the chance to win door prizes, join the post-race party, and participate in the Silent Auction on the day of the event. Organiser's Description
The Jameson 5K at Southwestern began in 2001 as a way of honoring the memory of Jaysn Flynn Jameson and to increase the endowment of the Jaysn Jameson Memorial Scholarship Fund at Southwestern University. Each year of the race our goal is to improve upon the last year and build the race to a premiere event for the University and Georgetown.
The 24th Annual event will be a trail race using the Cross-Country Course on the campus of Southwestern University on Saturday, October 26, 2024 and the virtual event where each participant will be able to run the 5K or walk the 1 Mile on any route, in any city at any time that is convenient for them during the 3-day weekend of Friday, October 25th Sunday, October 27th, 2024. The Mosey is a self-guided route that will be around the campus of Southwestern University. Virtual participants will need to time themselves so that they can report the times to allow for the results to be posted. We will again have the 5K event timed for trophies to be able to be presented during the post-race party. Door prizes can only be given out to in-person participants on Saturday morning. The Silent Auction will still be held the morning of the event Saturday, October 26, 2024. (Bids can be accepted starting Friday, September 22 during packet pickup.) A separate Silent Auction will occur during the afternoon and Picnic of Homecoming.
