Jog for Jax is a 5k charity walk/run hosted by The For You Foundation, a nonprofit that strives to provide financial assistance to bereaved mothers.
On May 30, 2022 Mikayla and James Knifongs son Jaxon was born prematurely and passed away shortly after birth. The couple wanted to do something where, together, they could lend a hand to others in the loss community.
James is an avid triathlon runner, so hosting a charity run seemed like a no-brainer. Through the 5k, James and Mikayla have been able to combine forces while honoring Jaxon and helping other families in need.
GOALS OF THE RACE
-To raise awareness about pregnancy and infant loss
-To raise money to provide financial assistance to bereaved mothers
-To create a sense of community between local families who have experienced loss.
