IN MEMORY OF MICHAEL GILLESPIE: KEEP THE PARADE RUNNING honors the memory of MICHAEL GILLESPIE, a beloved public servant, retired Abington Township Police officer, and true Glenside icon who passed away in 2009.

A 26-year police veteran, nearly two-decade Abington Township Commissioner, U.S. Marine Corps veteran, and Abington High School graduate (Class of 56), Michael devoted his life to service. He co-chaired the Greater Glenside Patriotic Association (GGPA) and was deeply involved in the July 4th Parade and Fireworks, as well as the Marine Corps League, Kiwanis, and Citizens and Police Together (CAPT).

Remembered for his kindness, loyalty, and tireless dedication, Michaels legacy of service and love for Glenside lives on.
