This vibrant event marks the Second Annual Trail Half Marathon hosted by the Ketchikan Running Club and promises an unforgettable day of running through nature's stunning landscapes. The race will start and finish at the scenic Ward Lake, featuring a breathtaking course that weaves through the enchanting Perseverance Lake Trail, Ward Creek Trail, and the Pipeline and Salvage routes.
Runners will have ample time to complete the 13.1-mile distance, with a generous 5-hour time limit—ideal for both seasoned athletes and casual walkers alike. With four aide stations along the route, participants can enjoy the camaraderie of fellow racers while staying hydrated and energized. Individual runners and relay teams of up to four members are welcome to register, making this a perfect opportunity to challenge yourself or share the fun with friends! And so it starts - The Southeast Slosh!
Join us for Ketchikan Running Club's Second Annual Trail Half Marathon on Saturday July 11th. The race will start and finish at Ward Lake and incorporate surrounding trails including Perseverance Lake Trail, Ward Creek Trail, Pipeline and Salvage. There will be 4 aide stations along the route. All racers will have 5 hours to finish the race. (That is about a 21:30 minute mile - plenty of time for walkers!) After the cut-off time, racers can finish the course, however aide station support and finish line celebration cannot be guaranteed.
Cost is $50 (+ processing fee), $45 for Ketchikan Running Club Members
Individual runners, as well as relay teams (up to 4 runners in a team), are welcome to register. Each team is responsible for determining where they will start and finish each leg of the relay.
Bib pick-up will be at the Ketchikan Rec Center - Friday, July 10th from 5-7 PM. There will be registration at Ward Lake, but it will be CASH ONLY.
