Event summary

Join us for the exhilarating Laborious Labor Day 5 & 10 Miler on Monday, September 2, 2024, in Marlborough, Middlesex! Held at the picturesque Ghiloni Park, this beloved event—now a 20+ year tradition—invites participants to support the Hudson Food Pantry by donating 15 canned or non-perishable goods instead of paying an entry fee. Choose between the thrilling 10-mile or the scenic 5-mile course, both of which wind through the beautiful hills of Marlborough and Hudson.

The races kick off at 8:00 am, featuring cheerful course marshals and photographers capturing your memorable moments. With prizes for the top three male and female finishers in both races, there's plenty of motivation to push your limits! The 5-mile race is walker-friendly, making it perfect for anyone training for the upcoming Tough Ten Turkey trot in November. Enjoy post-race refreshments and the camaraderie of fellow runners while competing for bragging rights for the fastest local running club. Don't miss this opportunity to run for a great cause and have a blast in the heart of the community!

This race was the creation of Mark Vital in 2003 and its primary purpose is to raise food and community awareness for the Marlborough Food Pantry. Vital says, I love running and just wanted to help out. This type of run is great for the community and a lot of fun for the runners. Instead of charging an entry fee to run, the recommended fee is 15 nonperishable food items. Many runners bring extra, says Vital.
