In addition to the live races, participants can also join the popular Reservoir Challenge, which allows participants to run or walk the scenic 2.7-mile paved trail around the Lafayette Reservoir from October 10 to 17. It's a fantastic chance to challenge yourself while enjoying the gorgeous surroundings. With a strong commitment to giving back, last year’s event contributed over $37,000 to local schools, fostering community engagement and support. ABOUT THE LAFAYETTE RES RUN FOR EDUCATION
The Lafayette Chamber [https://lafayettechamber.org] and the City of Lafayette [https://www.lovelafayette.org/] are co-sponsors of the Lafayette Res Run for Education which is traditionally held the third Sunday in October.
THE 2026 LAFAYETTE RES RUN FOR EDUCATION WILL BE HELD SUNDAY, OCTOBER 18. 5K: 8AM, 10K: 8:15AM, 2 MILE: 8:45AM IN DOWNTOWN LAFAYETTE, CA.
Back by popular demand, from its introduction in 2020, you can register for the RESERVOIR CHALLENGE the virtual race which runs around the 2.7-mile paved trail of the Lafayette Reservoir October 10-17. Please note, the Reservoir Challenge is not an option on Sunday, October 18 as the Reservoir will be closed for the 10K runners. The Reservoir Challenge is great opportunity to safely walk or run the Reservoir on your own, perhaps beating your time from last year.
Beneficiaries of the event are the local schools and the services and programs of the Chamber. See below for what we gave back to our schools last year!
The Run is the citys most popular family affair, involving kids, parents, grandparents, and hundreds of serious runners from throughout the Bay Area. Join us in 2025 for the 10k, 5k, the 2 mile run/walk for fun or the Reservoir Challenge! Sprinters, walkers, the stroller brigade and many of Lafayettes top four legged residents are welcome to join in the fun.
