Join us for the Lakota Optimist Club’s Run for Youth on Saturday, October 10, 2026, in beautiful Liberty Township, Butler! This exciting event kicks off at 10:00 AM at Lakota Plains Jr. School, and it's a fantastic opportunity for young runners to showcase their skills. The highlight of the day is the 1.5-mile race specifically designed for elementary-age students, where the top three boys and girls from each grade will receive awards, and every participant will earn a ribbon for their efforts.
Make sure to register by September 17, 2026, to secure a free race shirt, as T-shirts are not guaranteed after this date. Arrive by 9:15 AM to ensure a smooth check-in process and to make it to the starting line on time—remember, the race will go on rain or shine! Registered adults are also welcome to accompany their young athletes, and while adult times will be recorded, awards will be given only to the kids. Runners must arrive no later than 9:15 am to ensure receiving race number and getting to starting line in time for start of race. Late arrivals may experience traffic delays and arrive late for the start.
1.5 mile race for elementary age students
Awards for the first 3 boy & girl finishers of each grade
Ribbons for all finishers
Race will take place Rain or Shine
Registered Adults are welcome to accompany their students. Adult times will appear on the results but no awards will be given.
